 ”AQUELARRE”

This collection is especifically created as costumes for a DJ / VJ couple, who make a sound and video experience in each one of their shows, they are “The Itcchy and Scratchy Show”. Two years ago I designed their logo and web page, and it´s only logical that now they haved asked me to design the costumes for when they are on stage.

My inspiration for this was “Aquelarre”. Aquelarrres, or Sabaths, were this ceremonys where pagan believers got togueter and celebrate under the enchant of music and other

elixirs. Is a celebration of life, and pleasures, is a tribute to your senses.

Since centurys, music has been a way of comming in trance whit the other world, magical rituals for centurys had involved dancing, is a way of calling what you canst see.

And to express this “magical” vibes I used shapes like capes and togues, like the ones priests use, or wizards. Master of ceremony clothes.

Djs have the amazing power of making thousands of people dance to their beat, like if they were hipnotized, that is exactly the soul of my collection.

Even if it is for dancing and party, is ok that this are knited in heavy materials, because this celebration are celebrated on top of mountains, where it is cold, and the most important “aquelarre” of the year is at the end of october, so it is important to be protected against cold. Wearing clothes under is optional.

Another reassons why this are all totally open on the front is to make it faster when it comes to….. no wasting precious time in getting undressed. This are wild partys.

And they usually end whit human sacrifices….
